Never before has a video series as complex as that of J.S. Logistics Kft. been produced for truck drivers. The videos are fitness training sessions for truck drivers. For compiling and implementing the fitness video series, the company needed a personal trainer who knows the world of transport and drivers’ working conditions.
With more than 16 years of experience in international road transport and logistics, J.S. Logistics Kft. now offers drivers free fitness video training sessions, which are available online for everyone through the company’s YouTube channel.
“It is important for us to support our colleagues in the most effective way possible to improve their lifestyle and general physical fitness. Two years ago, we launched our first ‘Don’t just lose weight!’ campaign, the main goal of which is to achieve ideal body weight with a focus on sustainable nutrition,” said Emese Bujtás-Kiss, Managing Director of J.S. Logistics Kft. about the origins of the sports program concept.
“We know our drivers’ working conditions and the harmful effects of sedentary work. I believe that exercise – combined with a healthy diet – is one of the most effective ways to stay physically fit. The exercise routines were developed by our personal trainer to alleviate musculoskeletal disorders, which are very common among our colleagues,” added J.S. Logistics Kft.’s manager.
The video series consists of several chapters. A complex 15-minute exercise video has been produced that drivers can follow while working, even in a truck park, to improve their health. Other video clips show programs that can be carried out in the cabin, so drivers do not have to do without exercise even in bad weather. Shorter episodes show the details of each exercise, while playlists help add variety to the workout.
Developer and trainer of the video training series is Krisztián Szomorkovics, a 34-year-old personal trainer who has worked with our company before and knows the drivers’ work and lifestyle. He was enthusiastic about the idea and immediately got involved in the program. The training program was created for the goal of integrating exercise into working life in order to maintain health.
“Drivers I know spend 8 to 10 hours a day in their vehicles. The predictable result of this is that certain muscles become weaker, which causes other muscles to overcompensate and eventually a musculoskeletal problem can develop. To prevent this and alleviate the symptoms, the program has been designed so it can be carried out by anyone. All J.S. Logistics Kft.’s vehicles have been equipped with a mat, rubber band and TRX exercise belt. We present the drivers with a very easy to follow and simple video exercise series they can easily perform. Their easily achievable is guaranteed improvement in mental and physical health. The aim of this program: If the worker is physically and mentally healthy, he works punctually and with more concentration, which is also important for the employer” – says Krisztián Szomorkovics, program developer and exercise trainer.
Encouraging regular physical activity is not only important for employees and employers, it also improves road safety. Moreover, developing mental health through exercise has an impact on stress management, because a fitter driver is better able to cope with stressful situations, such as driving and the anomalies in traffic, which he encounters every day.
